The following article will guide you through purchasing your first NFT on Swappable, an NFT from the Night Gallery Collection.There are a few different steps to take, so this article will start at the very beginning with setting up your NFT/crypto wallet.Please note that Swappable has a dedicated FAQ and help section, and support team live 24-7 to assist on the Discord and Telegram community channels.

Part 1: How to set up your crypto wallet

To interact with the swappable.io interface you will first need an Ethereum wallet. Your wallet is a piece of software that holds your private keys. Your private keys hold your access to any digital asset you may own on a particular blockchain. MetaMask is the most used Web3 wallet. Follow the steps below to install and configure your MetaMask wallet.

Step 1: Download the MetaMask extension for Chrome or Brave web browser

Download MetaMask here. Select “Create a Wallet” and create a username and password that you will remember.

You will be assigned a “Secret Recovery Phrase”. Make sure to write down this phrase on a piece of paper and store it somewhere safe.

This phrase is the ONLY way you can recover your wallet content (i.e. your NFTs or cryptocurrency) in case you forget your password. If you lose both your wallet credentials and your recovery phrase, your funds will be lost. This phrase is only known to you and guarantees you FULL and EXCLUSIVE access to your funds. Do not share your Secret Recovery Phrase with anyone.

Confirm that you have saved the “Secret Recovery Phrase” by selecting the words in the correct order as requested.

MetaMask is now installed and set up. It can be found in your browser extensions, usually on the top right of your browser. Look for the fox face icon.

Step 2: Connect you MetaMask wallet to the Polygon/MATIC network

The Night Gallery NFTs are minted on the Polygon/MATIC blockchain, so you will need to connect your MetaMask wallet to the Polygon/MATIC network. Please follow the guide found here.

Step 3: Add funds to your MetaMask wallet

Night Gallery Collection NFTs are listed for sale in ETH on the Polygon/Matic blockchain. This means will need to add funds in the way of MATIC tokens to your MetaMask wallet, and then convert this MATIC to ETH on the Polygon/Matic blockchain. This is a two step process.

  1. First you add MATIC to your MetaMask wallet, please follow the guide to adding MATIC funds found here.
  2. Second, you convert MATIC to ETH on Polygon/Matic, which is the currency you will purchase with.  The easiest way to do this us by using QuickSwap.
Step 4: Sign in to your MetaMask wallet

You have downloaded the MetaMask wallet extension, backed your wallet using the seed phrase, loaded your wallet with MATIC and converted to ETH on MATIC blockchain? Well done. The next step is to sign in to your MetaMask wallet.

Step 5: Connect your MetaMask wallet with Swappable.io

You can do so by opening swappable.io and clicking the ‘Connect Wallet’ button on the top right of the page. Make sure you accept the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Agreement checkboxes.

Step 6: Accept the signature request on MetaMask by clicking Sign

In doing so, you have now connected your MetaMask wallet to Swappable, and are now ready to browse the site and purchase your NFTs.

 

There are two ways to purchase: Bid or Buy.

NFTs can be listed for auction to the highest bidder, or for sale at a set price. The sales type is determined by the NFT holder when creating the listing. We’ll now go through both methods to purchase your NFT. Part 2 is how to buy for a fixed price, and part 3 is how to place a bid.

 

The following is step-by-step instructions on how to purchase an NFT listed for a fixed price.

  1. Locate the NFT you’d like to purchase on Swappable, in this case, a Night Gallery Collection NFT found here.
  2. Click on the NFT to view its listings page. Here you’ll see information such as the NFT description and trading history.
  3. Under the heading ‘Listings’ found on the page, you will see any fixed price sales of the NFT created by the NFT holder(s). Choose the listing price you’d like to purchase for, and click ‘Buy’.  Please note, if there are no current listings of the NFT for sale, you will not see the option to buy. If there are many holders of the NFT you will see multiple prices.
  4. Review your purchase in the pop-out window and click ‘Checkout’
  5. Approve the MetaMask transaction in the pop-out window to action the purchase.

Congratulations! You have just purchased your Night Gallery Collection NFT! Your NFT will now show in your Swappable wallet.

 

The following is step-by-step instructions on how to place your bid on an NFT.

  1. Locate the NFT you’d like to purchase on Swappable, in this case, a Night Gallery Collection NFT found here.
  2. Click on the listing to open the NFT’s description page.
  3. Scroll down and click the ‘Make Offer’ button. Fill in the required info such as quantity and the price you are ready to bid.
  4. Insert quantity, the price per item you are willing to bid, then scroll down the page and click ‘Confirm Offer’.
  5. This step will trigger a MetaMask request. Click ‘Confirm’.
  6. MetaMask will initiate a signature request. Click Sign.

Congratulations! You’ve just placed a bid for a NFT listed on a Swappable auction! If a/the seller accepts, the funds will be taken and the NFT will be transferred to your wallet.
